The Citrus limon is an evergreen shrub in the flowering plant family Rutaceae, native to Assam. The Assamese common of Citrus limon is a কাজি নেমু (Kaji Nemu). The other common name of the shrub is Assam Lemon. The shape of leaves is elliptic, oblong or long-ovate, pattern of leaves is alternate, and margin of leaves is finely toothed. The lemon has a white, fragrant flower with 4-5 petals with yellow anthers and buds are reddish. The fruit is oval with protuberance at the apex. The branch and stems of Citrus limon plant has sharp thorns.
