Hedyotis diffusa Willd. is an annual herb in the family Rubiaceae. The plant is native to Assam. The Assamese common name of Hedyotis diffusa বন জালুক (Bon jaluk). Other common of the herb are snake-needle grass, flat-top mille graines, diamond-flower. The plant grows in humid fields and wet grounds. It is a prostrate herb, small; arrangement of leaves is opposite and alternate, shape of leaves is linear and margin of leaves is entire. Flowers are solitary, small, white. Hedyotis diffusa is a popular high rated medicinal plant. Research on this plant shows its higher anticancer properties.
