Portulaca oleracea is an annual fleshy herb in the family Portulacaceae. The herb is native in Assam and found almost all over the world. This plant is a popular vegetable for people. The Assamese common name of Portulaca oleracea are মালভোগ শাক, হাঁহ ঠেঙীয়া, মালভোগ খুতুৰা, নুনীয়া (Malbhog sak, Hah thengia, Malbhog khutura, Nunia-sak). The other common name of the herb are Wild Portulaca, little hogweed, Common Purslane, duckweed, garden purslane, parsley. Leaf Arrangement of Wild Portulacais opposite-decussate, Leaf Shape is oblong or ovate-elliptic and colour of flower is yellow. The leaves are clustered at stem and the flowers open singly at the center of the leaf cluster.
